Magna Carta Timeline
- 1166- King John of England was born.
- 1199- King John begin his reign. Richard a king before John died and John reigned, war with France was renewed because of Johns second marriage.
- 1209-1213- The pop banned and didn't communicate to King John for these years.
- 1213- Stress between the Barons/ Church and King were set.
- 1214- England the lost the final battle of Bouvines to France, which made the english barons very mad and upset.
- 1215- Charter of Liberties which became known as the Magna Carta was written. In a short period of time, it was forced into law by barons that begged to make a law and then thrown out by the king.
- 1216- King John died, King Henry the 3rd became king after he died.
- 1216- A new version of the Magna Carta became the law.
- 1217- Another, refreshed, version of the Magna Carta was signed into law
- King Henry the 3rd became old. He then agreed to a fully written final Magna Carta in an exchange for a massive tax.
The Magna Carta influenced The US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and European convention of Human rights.
